Therapy

We provide confidential services to adults 18 years and up. Our approach to counselling and psychotherapy follows the life-affirming principles and methods of Viktor E. Frankl’s Logotherapy and Existential Analysis. This method is especially suited for addressing the existential aspects of physical and mental conditions and for finding meaning and purpose in the face of challenges that life poses.

In addition to the empirically validated and evidence-based practice of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (LTEA), we offer principles and methods from other evidence-based treatment methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Marriage and Family Therapy. We utilize this eclectic approach guided by Viktor E. Frankl’s LTEA to address a wide variety of concerns, such as acute and chronic physical or mental illness, symptoms of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), moral injury, burnout, grief, loss, trauma, life-limiting conditions, life transitions, adjustment issues, and couple, marital, and family issues.

The Ottawa Institute of Logotherapy offers individual online therapy sessions to residens of Ontario provided by Registered Psychotherapists, Professor Edward Marshall, PhD, RP and Professor Maria Marshall, PhD, RP.

The fee for a 60-minute therapy session is $ 200.00 (Canadian Dollars). The cost for services provided by a Registered Psychotherapist are covered by some private extended health insurance policies, including Canada Life, SunLife, Manulife, GreenShield, Blue Cross, among others.
